31.4 Selection of 3 pictures

For the first photograph I picked a photo that didn't show much colour and objects. It's more of a simple photo that I tried to use negative space on for the main title sequence. I had a friend sit down next to me and face away so that the back of the head was facing me. The wind was blowing so that the hair was flying everywhere. This along with the negative blurry space of the tunnel gives the picture a certain atmosphere of loneliness and mystery as to who the person is. I selected it as it brings a sense of mystery to the scene.

This second photograph I picked I tried to use rule of thirds so that it could focus more on the boy and the graffiti right beside him. But it didn't work out so this was the outcome of that attempt and it turned out to be an okay photograph that I used in the final title sequence. The colour is a dimmer shade so that the atmosphere of the title sequence won't get ruined by bright colours.

This third photograph shows a model playing the main character role. Again the colour has been dimmed to fit the theme of dark pictures in the sequence. I had to aim the camera away from the light so that there would be less exposure in the photograph.

The Planning of photoshoot for TV show Unexpected title sequence

.Specific media product photos will be used for Unexpected

.Theme for photo shoot: Dark and eery.

.Revlevant equipment, props, costume: Canon camera, a studio for some of the photographs, tripod, and fake blood (special effect make up).
Costumes: Everyday clothing.

. Recce of shoot location:
I will mainly be shooting under the tunnel that is on the guided bus way in Cambridge. This location is safe to shoot in and gives a lot of natural lighting, which I need. This tunnel has a dark look due to lots of graffiti being drawn all over the walls.

                                                                  Photograph 1 Process

Final outcome
Description:
For this edit I lowered the brightness and hue to create a more darker look to the once bright photo. I then lowered the contrast so that the colour wouldn't stand out and look odd with the darker background. The manual setting used for this photograph was a lower aperture to let less light in.

Photograph 2

Final Outcome
                                                                       Description:
For this photograph I lowered the brightness/highlight and the contrast so
that the photo was much darker then the original. It matches the atmosphere of the series as the two models are acting the roles while everything is dark all around them, including themselves. For the original photograph I used a manual exposure mode.

Photograph 3

Final Outcome
Description:
I added more contrast to the picture to make it look more clear to the eye.
I increased the brightness and hue so that the picture would come out more vivid. The original photograph was shot with f/11.0.

Photograph 4

Final Outcome

Description:
For this photograph I wanted the final outcome to look dark and creepy which would be hard to do. I tried to lower the lighting and increased the contrast to have this final picture. The originals max aperture value was f/5.3.

                                                                      Photograph 5

Final Outcome

Description:
For this final photograph I only changed and redid the contrast and vibrance.
This last photograph wasn't shot with a manual as I was only testing the shot but i ended up liking it, so this photograph was auto.

Episode 1: The starting scene is of a little blonde girl running around a garden laughing and shouting for her mother. That scene quickly fades and the shot is now in a dark room with pictures scattered everywhere with paper and pens. There are now footsteps being heard from a distance travelling  towards this room with faint mumbling mixed within the sounds. The camera zooms into this persons shoes and travels slowly upwards till it reaches the hands giving you the idea that it’s a women and she’s now laughing while crossing a name out on a piece of paper. Changes to name of show
I named this show 'Julie Storey' at first but it didn't appeal to me as it seemed to boring and long. This name wouldn't catch an audience appeal so I gave the name a second thought and came up with 'Unexpected' as it connects with the story of the show and is simple but catchy. This would be easy to remember and would stand out with all the other short named shows.

Location
I thought about the location for a while and thought South London in the 90's would fit in with the story. I didn't want a quiet atmosphere as it wouldn't fit the theme of the story. So both outline of the city centre and in the city centre is a fitting role.

16.5 feed back and Pre-Production / Production plan

. For the development on one of our concepts, Hollie and I decided to choose the concept I developed, called 'Unexpected' which was originally called 'Julie Storey' but was changed last second. The feedback that was given about this concept gave us good ideas about how we can explore the story and to improve it several ways .
What we've added are more characters, for example 2 ensemble casts of lawyers and police men. We also have cleared the storyline so that it isn't all over the place and lastly we have given each murder victim a story so that they each have either done something bad to the main character or someone else.

Concept

The concept of this show is that there Is a young woman around the age of 25 who is very psychotic and goes around killing men who she has written down on her ‘hit-list’. Her reason for killing each of the men on her list will be because the men have either done something bad to her (rape, abuse, forced her into something) or she has witnesses / known about them doing bad things to other girls / woman.
However, when she comes to one of her victims who is named Jamie, she finds it difficult to go through with the assassination of the man as she begins falling in love with him.
It will also be brought to the attention of the audience that Jamie did not in fact commit the crime that Julie had been accusing him of which causes conflict between the 2.
